PE is on a Monday afternoon (indoors) as well as Thursday afternoons (outdoors)

Please remember to have a PE kit in school at all times.

Jewellery must be removed for PE sessions/afterschool clubs. Please show your children how to remove earrings, as we are not permitted to do this for them.

You must have a an indoor PE kit, which consists of black school pumps, a white T-shirt and black shorts.

Also, children must have an outdoor PE kit in school. This consists of a pair of outdoor trainers, a pair of jogging bottoms and a sweat shirt to keep the children warm whilst outside.

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD INTO SCHOOL WITH A WATER BOTTLE EVERY DAY. THIS IS IMPORTANT EVEN THOUGH THE WEATHER IS A LITTLE COOLER.

Can you use this word in a sentence?

If you bring in a sentence using the word above, then you will receive a certain amount of house point!!!

Homework
Reading - Children are expected to read everyday to an adult at home. When they have read the adult is to record this in their Reading Diary and any comments which you would like to teacher to know.

When the child has finished their book they are given the opportunity to change this for a new book every morning when coming into school. Please encourage your child to do this independently.

The more you child reads the more successful they will become at reading fluently with good understanding and then be able to transfer this into their writing.

If you read every day, including Friday morning, as well as get your Reading Record signed by an adult. You will get a special prize off Miss Roberts!

It's VERY EXCITING

Maths - Maths worksheets or activities are given to the children on a Friday. They are to be completed and returned no later than the following Wednesday.

This week the homework will be focused on

'addition and subtraction'.

Spellings - Spelling rules will be given out on Friday. Those children doing Read Write Inc (RWI) will have a set of spellings given to them by their RWI teacher.

The children will have a weekly spelling test.

The spelling rules for this week are:

'ur' sound spelt 'or'

e.g. worm, work etc

'or' sound spelt 'ar' or 'a'

e.g. stalk, walk etc

Learning Logs - A longer research-based piece of homework is set every three weeks - children are given two weeks to complete the task and are encouraged to be creative with their responses.

The homework title for this period is...

'Tell and show me everything you know about castles'

Please be creative!

This is due back in to school on Friday 18th November.
