back to home Headteacher's Welcome

A very warm welcome to St. Augustine's Catholic Primary school.

I hope that you will find our website both useful and informative. Our site is regularly updated which will allow you to see all of the wonderful things going on at our school. It will give you an insight into our inclusive, caring and happy school where the Gospel values are clearly visible and alive.

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of a school where the children are at the heart of everything we do. With the Catholic ethos at its core, we are a community where parents, staff, pupils and Governors work together. We strive to enable children to feel safe and to grow academically, spiritually and morally preparing them to be successful future citizens of modern Britain.

Education is a partnership between the child, home and school. At St. Augustine's we have a home school agreement which parents, the child and the teacher signs annually. We are committed to developing the children as individuals, enabling every pupil to fulfil their full potential not only in their academic studies but also in sports, drama, music, or wherever their talents may lie. We meet together regularly in worship and the values of tolerance, honesty, and respect of other cultures underpins our philosophy.

We have close links with the St. Augustine's Church (Chapel of Ease), which is next to the school. We prepare children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. We have a small but dedicated group of PSF (Parent, Staff and Friends) members who raise money for projects in the school and run events for the children and wider school community.

St. Augustine's is a school where every child matters.  We have an 'open door' policy and encourage parents to come and speak to staff if they have any concerns: we are always here to help.  We are delighted to welcome visitors and if you wish to visit the school please do not hesitate to contact the school office for an appointment.
